- Identity: the John Oak of Westborough who married in 1742 and died by 1752 is taken to be this John. A 1722 guardianship calls the orphaned John "of Westborough," and the only other John Oaks of the time lived until 1767. No single record joins the two. Probable
- Married: Susanna Allen, Westborough, 3 November 1742. Probable
- Died: by 1752, when his estate was administered and a guardian was named for his minor children, including Nathaniel. Probable
