Oak–Oaks–Oakes: Family Register: Nathaniel Oak of Marlborough, Mass., and Three Generations of His Descendants in Both Male and Female Lines

The complete book: frontispiece portrait, title page, preface, the register itself (printed pages 3–84, including H. L. Oak's life and the family Bible account of the immigrant), and a six-page index. Its compiler, Henry Lebbeus Oak, explains in the preface that he began the work in 1891, concerned that the old Maine family was scattering, and why he included descendants in the female lines; the sketch of his life at the end is by his brother Ora Oak. The Bancroft Library at Berkeley holds Henry's correspondence and papers. Scanned from the Library of Congress copyright-deposit copy, whose covers, blank leaves and receipt stamp (January 17, 1907) are included.
